Millions of “cheap” printers get thrown away when the ink costs more than the machine. We built a business model where that stops making sense — for us and for you.
Here’s the uncomfortable economics of ordinary printing: manufacturers sell printers cheap and profit on cartridges. That gives everyone the wrong incentives — printers are built to be replaced, not repaired, and when the ink costs more than the machine, the machine goes in the bin.
A subscription flips the incentive. The printer is ours, so we want it to last: we repair before we replace, refurbish before we retire, and choose hardware that survives years of service. You only pay for the pages you actually need, so nothing about our model rewards waste — not yours, and not ours.
We don’t claim this makes printing green. Printing uses paper, ink, and energy — it always will. We claim something more modest and more honest: the all-inclusive model is designed to waste less than the buy-cheap, toss-often alternative.
When a printer misbehaves, we troubleshoot remotely and repair where we can. Replacement is the backstop, not the default — because the hardware is our asset, not a disposable.
Printers returned at the end of a subscription are inspected, refurbished, and sent back into service. Units that can't be redeployed are responsibly recycled, not landfilled.
Ink shipments include a prepaid return mailer for your empties. Send them back and they're recycled — no cartridge from Print Pass needs to end up in the trash.

You’ll notice this page has no percentages, no tons-of-CO₂ figures, and no green badges. That’s deliberate. We’re a young company, and we haven’t yet measured our environmental footprint end to end — and we won’t publish numbers we can’t stand behind.
As we grow, we intend to measure what matters — hardware redeployment rates, cartridge return rates, and eventually carbon accounting — and publish the results here, whatever they say. Until then: no invented statistics. It’s the same rule we apply to everything else we tell you.
Three small things make the biggest difference: send your empty cartridges back in the prepaid mailer (it takes one minute), return your printer when your subscription ends so it can serve someone else, and pick the plan that matches how you actually print — the calculator helps, and so do we. Printing double-sided doesn’t hurt either.
